About Us

Established in the 1970s, Ebony Mas Band has a rich history rooted in cultural celebration and music. Originally known for its renowned Ebony Steelband, the band took a hiatus in 1996, only to be resurrected in 2016 with renewed vigour. Since then, Ebony Mas has become a staple at the Notting Hill Carnival, capturing the essence of Mas in the modern era.

 

Our achievements speak volumes: in 2022, we claimed the title of the best medium adults band, followed by another victory in 2023 for the best children's band. Meanwhile, our steelband has amassed an impressive record of 24 National Panorama wins, including a first-place finish just last year.

 

Ebony Mas is more than just a band—it's a complete carnival experience. Dubbed a "super band" at Notting Hill Carnival, we offer a diverse array of entertainment, including Steelpan performances, children's Mas, adult Mas, and live music. Our commitment to inclusivity and good vibes ensures that Ebony Mas is a family band for all, delivering nothing but the best in carnival revelry.
